Fairview Health Services Project Manager in MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota

Overview

As a professional member of the Transformation Office, the Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end project management support of one or more project workplans. The Project Manager will independently plan and effectively co-manage all aspects of small to medium size projects with the project owner including schedule, scope, quality, value, and project resources following the appropriate methodologies.

Responsibilities Job Description

  • Serves as a consistent partner to the Portfolio Director in managing the needs of the Pillar

  • In partnership with the Portfolio Director, oversees and orchestrates the trade-offs and interdependencies of highly-complex, connected and dependent projects across the portfolio(s) in support of the Pillar and broader strategic imperatives

  • Partners with Portfolio Director and Finance to accurately plan, track, and efficiently operate the portfolio to achieve financial performance at or above annual NOI target of the portfolio they manage

  • Provides back-up coverage for the Portfolio Director through facilitation of Pillar meetings, generation of reports/dashboards/pre-briefs, and support to CEO DR+ Subgroup as requested

  • Maintains working knowledge (including financial value, milestones, risks and barriers) of broader pillar with ability to represent and speak to the work of the Pillar in forums such as Cross Pillar

  • Supports facilitation of Pillar/Portfolio huddles to engage project owners, understand risks, barriers and escalations and thought partner on solutions and mitigation

  • Operates across pillars and organizationally to liaison with their peers, shared services and operational partners to navigate evolving resource requirements, appropriately engaging the Intake Committee, and supporting broader plans on required sequencing and prioritization which may require pivots or adjustments at the project and portfolio level

  • Engages upstream in pillar prep discussions and CEO DR+ Subgroup activity as directed by the Portfolio Director which may include SCR development, data entry, and completion of standard templates

  • Provides direction and guidance to other project managers working within their pillar in support of individual project progression, mitigating barriers and providing escalation instruction, as needed

  • Consults on a variety of projects within the portfolio and across the Transformation Office leveraging previous project experience and practical application of lessons learned to new work

  • Supports facilitation of enterprise risk assessments, reporting and project owner compliance to Equity Strategy Office (ESO) requirements

  • Maintains a solid understanding of system strategic priorities and ensures portfolio projects align accordingly

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/work experience

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years project management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to effectively manage within it

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Experience managing project plans, schedules, test plans, resources, and budgets.

  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools

  • Successful record of accomplishment of delivering projects that meet business objectives

  • Ability to formally present project-related information clearly, concisely, and persuasively.

  • Excellent facilitation skills and ability to drive resolution to issues.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Experience:

  • Successful experience driving cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to meet project objectives

  • Proven skills in project management methodologies, processes, and industry standard tools

  • Ability to formally present project related information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner and to the executive level.

  • Ability to relate well at all levels of the organization, building rapport and maintaining collaborative relationships

  • Health Care industry experience

  • Expert skills in project management methodologies, processes, and industry standard tools.

  • Successful experience driving cross-organizational teams to meet project objectives. Leverages many years of experience to manage extensive projects, and is highly competent in the implementation of project results

Preferred Certification:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
