Job Description: Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity this summer to join our team as a High School Project Engineer Intern! This role is designed for high schoolers to gain exposure specific to a Project Management position. Additionally, this role will gain insight into additional opportunities available in the construction industry. Job Responsibilities: Assist the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies. Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders. Develop a first-hand understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety. Jobsite experience will be limited to interns that are over the age of 18. Minimum Qualifications: Interest in a career in the construction industry. Able to work at least 20 hours per week in-person. Able to commute to our Cedar Rapids office. Working toward a high school diploma. Preferred Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills Show a high level of professionalism and the ability to juggle multiple tasks Self-motivated Eager to work with a project team and learn about the construction industry Eligibility: Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Certain positions and locations require Covid-19 vaccination, subject to reasonable accommodations for valid medical or sincerely held religious reasons. Compensation: The hourly rate is $15-$18/hr. The hourly rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
