As the Program Monitoring Supervisor in the Special Education division with the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), you will provide leadership to a team of professional program monitors and support staff, and is responsible to manage, direct, coordinate, and facilitate the work of the team. Duties will include:
Administer, direct and coordinate activities related to the administration, implementation, program monitoring, analysis and reporting activities required pursuant to Federal Special Education Law.
Supervise the program monitoring tracking and reporting database system and ensure data tracking and reporting is compliant with federal and state legal standards and reporting requirements.
Provide staff direction and management of the internal monitoring systems to fulfill Program Monitoring unit responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
6 years of professional experience in Special Education
OR
A bachelor's or master's degree and 5 years of professional experience in Special Education
Experience must include lead, supervisory or managerial experience
Preferred Qualifications
Special Education leadership experience as the lead teacher or coordinator;
Experience as a school, district or cooperative administrator;
Experience working with a variety of school structures including intermediate districts, charter schools, and cooperatives/education districts;
Experience working in a system of continuous improvement, implementation science and data-based decision-making;
Knowledge of and experience with due process, federal regulations, state rules, statutes and monitoring processes in special education; and
Knowledge of and experience with federal reporting requirements.
