Fairview Health Services Nursing Station Technician-Cardiac Med/Surg IMC in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Overview
The University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank Campus is looking for a passionate and hardworking Nursing Station Technician to join our Cardiac Med/Surg IMC unit.
Our 38-bed unit helps adult patients with heart conditions, heart and lung transplants, surgeries, chest pains, heart failures and rhythm issues.
This position works 64 hours per 2 week pay period (.8FTE) on the rotating day and evening shifts (day- 7am-3:30pm and evening 3:00-11:30pm), 8 hour shifts, and every other weekend rotation.

Are you ready to kickstart your next engaging career in healthcare? Look no further! This exciting opportunity is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties.
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. Other job duties include:
Patient care tasks such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding
Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests
Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
Ordering and stocking of supplies

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants needs to acquire the certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
And one of the following:
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
Or
- Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
Or
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
Or
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, Nursing Assistant, or other related experience
