Direct the Project Engineering team, ensuring best practices and continuous improvement. This position is responsible for managing the team that manages projects from order receipt through project execution, installation, and acceptance. This role requires attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communications skills, basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, controls and software engineering. The Project Engineering team is expected to conduct all interactions with customers and suppliers in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the company's values. It is expected that this role also drives best practices and continuous improvement within the group and the organization. Reports to General Manager. Responsibilities: Establish and track key performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery) Monitor project scope, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, vendors, and deliverables Develop standards, processes, and tools for efficient project management Plan and manage systems schedules to meet revenue goals Oversee projects from order receipt to execution, installation, and acceptance Provide engineering oversight and maintain excellent interpersonal/communication skills in a customer-facing role Key Responsibilities: Project Portfolio Oversight: Use Smartsheet to manage project portfolio Performance Monitoring: Track key metrics (budget, schedule, scope, quality) and take corrective actions Resource Allocation: Optimize resource allocation to meet deadlines Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, develop contingency plans Stakeholder Management: Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, and stakeholders Process Improvement: Implement standardized project management methodologies and best practices Team Development: Coach and mentor project engineers Reporting and Analysis: Generate project reports for senior management, analyze data for trends Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, identify cost variances, and maintain financial control As an employee, your benefits may include: Paid vacation and sick time 12 paid holidays each year Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans with options for HSA/FSA Paid basic life and AD&D Insurance Short-term and long-term disability insurance Tax-free expense accounts for health, dental, and dependent care 401(k) plan with matching Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) Tuition reimbursement program Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Annual Discretionary Bonus eligibility Adoption Assistance Pet Insurance Requirements BS in Engineering or Business required, MBA would be a plus 3-5 years of project/engineering management experience 3-5 years of people management experience preferred Proven project management experience with successful project delivery Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Analytical skills for data interpretation and decision-making Relevant project management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) Strong technical a titude; understands and can articulate electrical, mechanical and software concepts Laser industry experience a plus Ability to handle a multi-tasking environment Polished customer relation skills.
