The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to ensure the seamless operation of our production facility. In this hands-on role, you'll put your problem-solving and technical expertise to work by repairing, maintaining, and upgrading our essential machinery. If you enjoy diagnosing issues, finding solutions, and keeping crucial equipment running smoothly, this could be the ideal position for you.

What You'll Do:

  • Troubleshoot and Repair: Analyze mechanical problems, pinpoint malfunctions, and execute timely repairs on engines, motors, conveyor systems, production equipment, and more.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Establish and follow schedules to maintain our equipment's optimal performance and prevent unexpected breakdowns.

  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Identify potential issues, research solutions, and initiate purchase orders for necessary parts.

  • Electrical Expertise: Address and resolve electrical problems within machinery.

  • Team Player: Collaborate with others on larger projects, ensuring successful completion.

What We're Looking For:

  • Technical Skills: Demonstrable experience in mechanical and electrical repair, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Problem Solver: Adept at identifying the root cause of equipment malfunctions and implementing effective solutions.

  • Hands-On Approach: Comfortable disassembling, repairing, replacing, and reassembling machinery components.

  • Preventive Mindset: Ability to develop and adhere to maintenance schedules.

  • Collaboration: Works effectively within a team setting.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Formal Training: Vocational technical school degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.

  • Additional Skills: Welding, fabrication, and computer skills (email, Excel, word processing) are a significant plus.

  • Forklift Certification: A must-have.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

  • Research repair paths and identify solutions for remediation of functional equipment.

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.

  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.

  • Lubricates and cleans parts.

  • Starts devices to test their performance.

  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.

  • Repairs electrical equipment.

  • Log and track and establish preventive maintenance schedules, and perform them on critical machinery as established.

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working in a smoke free environment

  • manual lifting up to 75lbs
