Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency Laboratory Systems Analyst in Minneapolis, Minnesota
SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking aLaboratory System Analystto join our Lab Administration team. This part time role will work 40 hours within a two week pay period, on days. Also includes on-call coverage (1 out of every 5 weeks).
Purpose of this position:Under Laboratory Administration, the Laboratory Informatics System Analyst is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance and development of information systems related to laboratory services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform or participate in analysis of systems/applications/databases and in the coordination of implementation and maintenance plans, including troubleshooting issues
- Build, test, implement, and maintain new software, as well as provide general software support for all software used by the laboratory
- Build, test, implement, and maintain database changes for approved clinical technical requests
- Build, test, implement and maintain systems’ interfaces
- Act as liaison between the Clinical Laboratory and other HCMC information systems by correlating laboratory test menus with each systems’ orders/order sets; and building, testing and implementing changes/upgrades to each system’s database or interface
- Write procedures and training manuals to comply with federal regulatory and certifying agencies (JCHAO/CLSI/NCCLS/CAP/AABB)
- Assist in developing department education materials and training of core users of the current laboratory system (Cerner)
- Participate in the installation and support of hardware and peripherals
- Assist in development of live event plan and provide post-live application support
- Provide support for planned and unplanned downtimes
