Fairview Health Services IT Department Analyst - Associate in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

The Department Analyst facilitates and supports activities in the department by providing analysis, insights, support and financial and metric modeling. Under the direction of leadership, this position will evaluate existing and future work, analyzing value and providing timely, relevant, and accurate financial measurement and reporting to support team objectives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with an innate curiosity and the ability to organize, multitask and leverage an understanding of the “big-picture” to help support digital transformation within our practice in step with IT efforts.

Responsibilities Job Description

  • Develop and maintain department performance metrics and dashboards, serving as primary point of contact on practice measurement.

  • Analyze and graphically represent metrics on budgets, value, capacity and portfolio, programs and projects to provide insight and actionable recommendations.

  • Support preparation of monthly department show back reporting.

  • Perform financial analysis on budgets and prepare budget tracking and forecasting reports.

  • Maintain a tracking and reporting mechanism to provide current resource data such as demand vs. supply reports, resource allocation and resource utilization.

  • Support governance processes to ensure practice standards are met.

  • Maintain practice methodologies, taking direction from senior team members and department leadership, but also offering recommendations for improvement.

  • May assist department staff in preparation of reports or presentations.

  • As needed, coordinate and consolidate practice/project information from various staff to produce summary reporting.

  • Performs other ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and support as requested.

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Technology, Project Management or related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training

· Strong interest or experience within Finance or IT, preferably in an analyst capacity.

· Strong Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint skills

· Excellent reporting skills or ability to quickly learn advanced Excel skills (Pivots, VLookups etc), PowerPoint Presentations

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to identify patterns, potential issues and translate into recommendations for improvement.

· High attention to detail and quality, yet about to synthesize data into concise and actionable information

· Strong project coordination skills

· Innovative problem solver. Ability to quickly identify and understand issues and drive towards effective resolution.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with a variety of stakeholders

· Strong organizational and time management skills, pursuing work with energy, drive and a will to finish

Preferred

· Advanced degree

· Experience within the Healthcare Industry.

· 3 to 5 years of experience in Finance, Data analysis and/or report writing.

· Knowledge of financial concepts, fiscal planning, business case development, and contract management

· Experience working within a defined development life cycle methodology.

· Experience working with PowerBI, Aha, or other data analytics tools

· Experience with ServiceNow
