Barr Engineering Hydrogeologist - Senior Level in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Job Description: Summary: Barr is seeking a senior-level hydrogeologist to help with challenging projects related to water supply evaluations, investigation and remediation of contaminated groundwater, mine planning and development, and groundwater-surface water interactions. Project responsibilities may include leading project teams to assist with conceptual site model development, aquifer test performance and analysis, work plan and report preparation, response action planning, staff mentoring, tracking financial performance, and consulting with regulatory agencies and clients. Business development activities may include developing proposals, networking, and informing clients of the full range of services offered by Barr. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or engineering 8 years of work experience directly related to hydrogeologic evaluations and/or remediation of contaminated groundwater Familiarity with MODFLOW Experience in designing hydrogeologic field investigation activities, including aquifer test implementation and analysis Strong technical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, ability to write well, and attention to detail A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project needs Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship Acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or engineering with an emphasis in hydrogeology Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one jurisdiction Experience or coursework in groundwater fate and transport NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required. Safety training will be provided.
