Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board HVAC Technician/Pipefitter in Minneapolis, Minnesota

What You'll Do Responsible to install, modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all piping systems, HVAC equipment, EMS and BMS systems as required. Accurately prepare layouts, coordinate installation of piping systems and make fittings for large pipes. Effectively use threading machines, pipe cutters, acetylene and arc welding equipment, brazing equipment and more to build fabricating equipment. Responsible to install, repair, and maintain boilers, air conditioners, pumps, heat pumps and more. Effectively and thoroughly make coils and other fittings for boilers, air conditioners, burners, heat pumps and more. Accurately test completed installations and systems to test for leaks and to ensure quality work. Responsible for accurate and timely repair refrigerants and piping leaks. Work with vendors for HVAC equipment and parts and for EMS and BMS software and hardware. Perform refrigerant evacuations, recovery, recycling and handling. Install, repair, program and maintain EMS and BMS systems and hardware; makes all required and necessary changes including set points, schedules, temperature set points, actuation, times, dates, loads and alarms. Appropriately receive and respond in a timely manner to inquiries and complaints from the public about heating and air conditioning in parks. Negotiate and meet deadlines and prioritize issues, identifying which issues require immediate attention and taking effective and appropriate action based on that determination. Remain current in industry best practices and apply knowledge to best serve the MPRB. Assist MPRB in identifying and addressing the park and recreation needs of underserved and under-represented communities.
