Director, Business Development Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director, Business Development to lead our North American inside sales team and drive significant growth for the organization. Reporting directly to the SVP, Head of North American Sales, you will be responsible for designing and executing strategies to maximize the performance of a rapidly growing and impactful team of inside sales professionals. This role offers the opportunity to build and lead a best-in-class team, collaborate with executive leadership, and implement innovative sales technologies to take our inside sales program to the next level. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: *Design and execute the overall strategy for the inside sales team, aligning with company goals and objectives. *Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of inside sales professionals, with potential to oversee managers as the team scales. *Set KPIs, quotas, and performance benchmarks, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. *Design incentive plans and strategies that will drive results across multiple business segments. Collaboration: *Work closely with senior executive stakeholders in Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Sales, including C-Suite and VP-level executives, to ensure alignment on strategy and execution. *Partner with Learning and Development to continuously enhance sales training and coaching programs, ensuring the team is equipped with cutting-edge skills. *Collaborate with the SVP and C-level executives to influence and drive North American sales strategy, ensuring consistent execution across teams. Innovation & Technology: *Optimize existing, identify new and ultimately leverage leading-edge automated revenue driving technology to accelerate sales processes and increase team efficiency. *Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices to align the inside sales program to best in class benchmarks. Execution & Growth: *Drive the day-to-day execution of inside sales operations, ensuring high levels of engagement, energy, and collaboration in a fast-paced, largely in-office hybrid / global setting. *Identify and act on opportunities for exponential growth by refining sales processes, improving lead qualification and generation, and increasing conversion rates. A Day in the Life: *Start the day reviewing the previous day's sales metrics and meeting with team(s) and manager(s) to track performance against KPIs. *Conduct morning stand-up meetings with the team(s) and leader(s), motivating and coaching them on high-priority tasks and strategies. *Daily collaboration with VP Salesstakeholders to assess progress toward their team's targets and continually calibrating for high impact results. *Regular cadence of C-level executive meetings to present results, insights, and recommendations on scaling the inside sales program using AI and technology solutions. *Spend time with individual sales team members, providing hands-on coaching and conducting performance reviews. *Weekly reporting to SVP, Marketing, SVP, Sales and Revenue Operations to ensure alignment on the latest campaigns and revenue goals. Key Attributes: *Proven Leadership: Extensive experience (10+ years) leading and developing high performing inside sales teams. *Collaboration Expertise: Significant experience collaborating with senior executives and cross-functional teams, particularly in Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Sales, including working with C and VP-level stakeholders. *Innovative Mindset: A deep understanding of best practices in sales training,learning and development, and technology solutions-particu arly in leveraging AI and automation to drive success. *Strategic Vision: Ability to design and implement sales incentives and sales strategies that foster both immediate results and long-term growth. *High Energy & Engagement: Capable of leading a fast-paced, high-energy, and collaborative team culture, driving engagement across a multi-national and global hybrid work environment. Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree required, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. *10+ years of professional experience leading inside sales teams in a dynamic and competitive industry. *Proven track record in building, scaling, and optimizing inside sales teams for growth. *Strong experience with sales technology platforms (CRM, automation tools, AI) and data-driven sales strategies. The hiring base salary range for this position is $122,500 - $168,400 CAD annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data.
