The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Cards and Retail Services, Deposit Products Group, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Payment Solutions, and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. The Role

The position manages a dedicated team of business architects, business systems consultants and operations analysts responsible for the implementation of debit-card related projects that impact multiple lines of business. This manager is responsible for debit card payment strategy initiatives that require an in-depth evaluation of a variety of factors that impact payment processing, customer experience and loss management. Manager will play a key role in the bank’s evolving enterprise payment strategy and lead major system initiatives required in response to legal/regulatory changes, process improvement opportunities or vendor-management required changes. This leader will play a key role in contract negotiations and management of our Network vendors Visa and MasterCard to address Wells Fargo business and policy requirements, including SLA and other performance metrics. Establishes and recommends changes to policies that may affect work units within DPG and across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading a technology team in partnership with architecture, responsible for development of and maintaining coding/development standards for the environment. This includes review of proposed solution designed by technical partners and trouble-shooting support for any migration or development issues.

• Lead projects/system initiatives designed to improve debit card and deposit account processes and customer experience or reduce bank risk

• Partner with Technology Architecture groups, legal, and DPG product managers on new initiatives.

• Partner with senior leaders across PVSI and the bank on our evolving Enterprise Payment Strategy

• Play a key role in the bank’s relationship and contract management with major payment processing vendors (e.g., Visa and MasterCard) and meet with large wholesale customers to discuss payment processing improvement opportunities as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: administrative support management, project management, business operations or strategic planning in financial services

  • 4+ years of management experience

  • 3+ years of debit card experience

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
