Description Job Description Summary: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Minnesota Diversified Industries (MDI) is a member of the executive team reporting directly to the President & CEO. The CIO is responsible for developing and implementing the overall technology strategy for MDI, ensuring that it aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. They also oversee all technology operations, including hardware and software systems, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and strategic planning. This unique role demands extensive experience in IT infrastructure, plant automation, and digital transformation. In addition to technical expertise, this role requires manufacturing facility experience and the acumen to implement and operate technology-driven business solutions within a social enterprise framework. The ideal candidate will be a visionary, collaborative leader, capable of aligning technology initiatives with MDI's organizational goals, enhancing operational efficiencies, fostering growth through innovative tech strategies, and effectively navigating the dual mandate of achieving traditional business outcomes while advancing MDI's social enterprise objectives. As the CIO, you will play a pivotal role in unifying and optimizing technology efforts across all MDI locations. Essential Functions: Strategic Planning and Leadership Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with MDI's mission and business objectives. Provide leadership in technology planning, project prioritization, and policy development to ensure comprehensive technology integration across all locations. Technology Integration and Optimization Oversee the implementation and maintenance of scalable tech solutions to improve operational efficiency and communication. Ensure seamless integration of technology initiatives across all five MDI locations to foster a unifi d and cooperative work environment. Champion the development and implementation of technology solutions that support and empower employees with disabilities. Ensure that all technology initiatives enhance accessibility and contribute to a supportive work environment. Data Security and Privacy Establish and maintain robust data security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Proactively identify potential security risks and implement measures to mitigate them. Team Development and Management Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to support MDI's technology needs. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with other leaders and departments to integrate technology solutions that support their functional needs and business goals. Act as a liaison between the IT department and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication. Serve as a community ambassador for the organization, representing its values and initiatives to external audiences. Innovation and Continuous Improvement Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure MDI remains at the forefront of technological innovation. Continuously assess and improve tech solutions to enhance performance, productivity, and user experience. Budget Management Oversee the technology budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and projects are completed within budget constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on the quality or effectiveness of technology solutions. Works independently, efficiently manages time, and uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals General Employ excellent, effective, respectful, and persuasive spoken and written communication skills Ensure compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures Ensure adherence to all current organizational policies Maintain the highest levels of ethics and confidentiality Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field MBA preferred 15+ years of business experience Demonstrated ability to achieve results across various operating and delivery models. Experience deploying and operating business systems including but not limited to ERP, CRM, Managed Services and Data and Business Intelligence. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to articulate MDI's mission in a clear and compelling manner to a broad, diverse audience. Demonstrated track-record of building partnerships in nonprofit space with committee experience. Demonstrates an inclusive leadership style, adept at engaging diverse audiences.
