Apply for Job Job ID364528 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyStudent Services Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9704CV Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job About the Job Unit or Program: Pre-Health Student Resource Center Hybrid position, Salary range: 58,000 - 64,000 Position Title and Position Management Number: Student Services Professional 4-Career Development 9704CV Duties and Responsibilities: Course Development and Instruction 40% * Create and assess learning objectives * Update syllabi each semester * Develop and teach course content Prepare course materials, homework assignments, and handouts Update weekly lessons and readings Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on assignments, exams, and projects * Foster relationships with faculty and staff partners and coordinate guest lectures * Utilize an array of learning platforms and technology * Assess and incorporate student feedback to develop and improve course content and delivery * Courses can include AHS 1101, 1102, 1611, 1612, 1613, 2301, 3401 Course modalities include a mix of in-person, virtual synchronous, and virtual asynchronous * Instruct and lead global programs abroad (AHS 3001, 3002, 3003, 3004, 3005) Career Counseling (30%) * Provide holistic coaching and mentoring to pre-health students (current and alumni) exploring health careers and pursuing application into a health profession program Conduct individual meetings with students in a variety of appointment types, including: career exploration, pre-health action plan, personal statement, and interview preparation Supports students in understanding their skills, interests, and values as they relate to careers * Coach students in the Health Profession Pathways program * Plan, develop, and implement programming and workshops for career development and application preparation topics * Produce career content to share with students via social media, websites, newsletters and technology platforms Outreach and Engagement (15%) * Represent the Pre-Health Student Resource Center at campus events * Support planning, execution, staffing of PHSRC large scale events, e.g. Health Careers Fair, Health Professional School Expo * Develop and lead professional development opportunities for student services staff including career counselors, academic advisors, etc. * Work with Pathways staff on coordination and delivery for Health Profession Pathways workshops and events * Provide staffing for Undergraduate Admissions events * Serve as a liaison to University of Minnesota undergraduate colleges and health sciences programs Recruitment, Hiring, and Supervision of Student Workers (7%) * Coordinate the recruitment and hiring process for student workers who support the PHSRC with teaching assistant, drop-in advising, course support, and communications * Onboard and train new hires * Supervise student workers; meet on a continuous basis to provide feedback and coaching on job performance Professional Development (5%) * Participate in professional development around career development, health professional programs, application preparation * Commitment to continuing education and skill development focused on equity and social justice topics to remove barriers faced by pre-health students and increase access to health profession programs * Engages in regional and national organizations * Publish and present on pre-health topics to campus, regional, and national audiences Other Duties as Assigned (3%) Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree plus at least five years of relevant experience, or master's degree plus at three years of relevant experience.
