Assistant General Managers oversee all aspects of in-store operations, including but not limited to staffing/scheduling, food safety, inventory/stock ordering, COGS management, cash handling and brand compliance. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for ensuring the store is in exceptional order and that all employees are performing duties properly and efficiently. Assistant General Managers must be self-motivated individuals who have superior leadership skills and execute systems and procedures with 100% integrity. Prior experience as an Assistant or General Manager in food service is required for this position.

*Hiring Bonus - $500 upon completion of assistant general management training and up to $1,000 after completion of Jimmy John's Management Certification Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide continual direction and feedback to workers during shifts

  • Schedule employee shifts and assign duties while managing your labor goal

  • Train and coach all new employees including Assistant Managers, In-Shop Sandwich Makers and Delivery Drivers

  • Assist with recruiting and hiring the right talent to grow our team

  • Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to your area director

  • Place accurate vendor orders and conduct weekly inventory

  • Review the stores P&L statement and making appropriate budgeting decisions

  • Check cash drawers and prepare bank deposits

  • Conduct pay-outs to delivery drivers upon the end of their shift

  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed

  • Address customer and employee complaints

  • Resolve conflicts between workers

  • Foster and maintain a positive work environment

  • Handle fast-paced and high stress situations in the store

Skills:

  • Ability to work a 50+ hour week

  • At least 18 years of age, with valid driver license and clean driving record

  • Prior experience as an Assistant or General Manager in food service

  • Proficiently operate a commercial slicer

  • Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. regularly throughout shifts

  • Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop through-out assigned shift

  • Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° F

  • Have a basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat

  • Complete Jimmy John Manager Certification Training

  • Food Safety- Become ServSafe Certified
