As an Advanced Systems Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and support of Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) systems for our customers. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of complex projects and providing technical expertise in the field of Inertial Measurement. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of our technological capabilities and the success of our customers.

You will report directly to our RLG Sensors and IMUs Senior Engineering Manager and you will work out of our Minneapolis, Minnesota location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the development and improvement of IMU systems, ensuring their accuracy, reliability, and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, design solutions, and validate system performance. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, as well as providing guidance and support to junior engineers.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and design solutions for IMU systems.

  • Conduct system-level testing and validation to ensure performance and reliability.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to IMU systems.

  • Work closely with manufacturing to improve capability and producibility of our IMUs.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers in the development and improvement of IMU systems.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in IMU technology and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering or physics.

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in the field of guidance and navigation.

  • Understanding of inertial measurement and it’s applications.

  • Experience in system-level testing and validation.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

WE VALUE

  • Master's degree in a technical discipline.

  • Experience with inertial measurement and/or guidance and navigation.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to IMU systems.

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
