The Payroll Operations Manager/People Partner is primarily responsible for managing and assuring the timely completion of the payroll cycle for all Rite of Passage employees while complying with all federal regulations. This position reports to the Corporate Controller, works closely with HR teams company-wide, and directly supervises the Payroll department, benefits administration, and payroll compliance.


  • Exerts influence to create positive change and proactively mitigate and resolve employee payroll issues .

  • Develops and deploys payroll systems and reports.

  • Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, policies and programs.

  • Works with the business and others in HR to develop effective organizational structures and reporting.

  • Serves as a dependable activist for your team and our mission.

  • Oversees and directs the day to day operations of payroll administration for exempt and non-exempt employees.

  • Maintain payroll guidelines by creating and updating policies and procedures.

  • Analyzes, investigates, troubleshoots and resolves payroll data errors; inspects system output and standard reports.

  • Comply with federal, multi-state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; ensuring rules and regulations are followed.

  • Effectively manages a team.


  • College degree in accounting or a related area.

  • 5+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state, multi-entity environment, 10 years preferred.

  • 5+ years supervisory experience required.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required, confidence using technology to support the Payroll function.

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions.

  • Able to relocate to the beautiful Carson Valley, NV.
