TOPCON Technology Ltd - U.K. is looking for a QUALITY INSPECTOR to be based in Minchinhampton ( UK)

Job Purpose

To carry out inspections on all inward goods in accordance with internal and external quality measures.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Inspect all goods received, recording on ICAPs and Sesame and updating the supplier surveillance list.

• Use and update ICAPs and Sesame for goods returned and to monitor stock movement.

• Manage and investigate supplier returns from subcontractor, and process and return failures to subcontractor via goods return (GRN) database, ensuring all issues are recorded, resolved and follow up with relevant staff.

• Ensure compliance with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) and update PFMEA documentation with relevant process owners.

• Provide subcontractors with any the most recent test procedures and latest software (both test software and software test platforms), provide onsite training if required in testing new products or using any new replicated test kit and/or software.

• Conduct data analysis for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) charts for the management team.

• Prepare supplier performance information for monthly supplier reviews, working with the Quality Manager and purchasing team as appropriate.

• Clear shortages for final goods and production.

• Raise NCRs (Non-conforming reporting) and generate inspection criteria documents.

• Conduct internal product process audits and supplier audits, feeding back findings and recommendations to the Quality Manager and other relevant staff.

• Train other staff on goods inwards inspection techniques and processes.

• Participate in Kaizen events and other continuous improvement activities.

Required experience, skills and knowledge

• Previous experience of working within Goods Inwards Inspection is essential

• At least 2+ years of working experience in a Similar role/ inspection role

• Experience of using electro/mechanical measurement devices such as Vernier, Micro-meter, multi-meter

• Working experience within a similar electro-mechanical manufacturing environment would be desirable.

• Colour perception.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to assess parts using drawings and talking to the supplier.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to provide feedback to subcontractors and suppliers.

• Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative.
