As the Warehouse Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you will maintain the safety and security programs under the direction of the Security Director with functional guidance from the Regional EHS Manager.

You will be responsible for successfully integrating EHS and Security initiatives into the functional operation of the facility by implementing systems, processes, and procedures to prevent injuries, violations of the law or company policies and minimize the environmental impact of our operations while working to supervise the guard force and conduct investigations.

Job Description

You will Contribute by

  • Creating high service and productivity expectations among team members, monitoring individual and team performance, and taking action to correct performance gaps and address improvement opportunities.

  • Assessing daily and weekly work habits, identifying trends in vehicle and workers' compensation accidents, and directing the allocation of people and best safety practices to address identified issues at the assigned distribution centers.

  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment for team members and visitors at the assigned distribution center in accordance with company policies and health and safety regulations.

  • Reviewing and evaluating the various functions' performance, addressing performance gaps, and taking corrective action as needed to ensure the warehouse and transportation teams are delivering on safety and security goals.

  • Assessing business conditions, evaluating business needs, and taking action to address opportunities to improve service, reduce costs, and enhance safety and security results of assigned distribution centers.

  • Maintaining a good working knowledge of the physical security systems, including closed-caption television and alarm and fire protection systems, and consistently using these tools to detect, investigate, and resolve problems associated with acts of dishonesty, safety, or exposure to loss.

  • Overseeing scheduling of work teams and initiating short and long-term planning with supervisors to ensure the assigned distribution center meets the needs of the business under different and changing business conditions.

  • Warehouse: Freezer (-20F to 0F)

  • Warehouse: Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)

  • Warehouse: Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)

We're looking for candidates with

  • 2-5 years of experience in retail operations, distribution, transportation, logistics, supply chain, security, safety management, or related fields.

  • 2-5 years of transportation safety experience; strong understanding of DOT, Yard Safety, DOT compliance, and accident investigation.

  • Experience leading compliance with all company policies and procedures.

  • The ability to communicate complex and detailed information verbally via telephone, in person, and writing.

  • Experience and the ability to operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.

  • Can handle multiple tasks and organize and coordinate activities effectively in complex situations.

  • A high standard of integrity and reliability.

  • Microsoft Office applications proficiency.
