MILWAUKEE METROPOLITAN SEWERAGE Project Manager-PPI/I in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

MMSD is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager Private Property Infiltration and Inflow (PPI/I) in the Executive Director Division. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager II, you will provide project management, engineering design, plan and specification preparation services for assigned PPI/I reduction projects, technical and field support for the PPI/I team, and recommendations to municipal engineering staff on PPI/I related issues. These projects involve the development and implementation of sustainable solutions for PPI/I reduction work throughout the MMSD service area. You will engage in extensive relationship building and daily communication with numerous people at all levels of technical competence, education, professional disciplines, and social backgrounds. *Provide project management for assigned projects, including managing schedule, budget, commitments (contracts), and project status. *Manage consultants to ensure conformance with MMSD policies, procedures, standards, and design criteria. *Maintain technical relevance, acumen, and communicate knowledge to the municipalities and MMSD staff while assuring construction means/methods are being implemented to the most current standards. *Professionally communicate and document conversations with municipality residents and the public through field interaction, project meetings/workshops, or direct project-*related phone/electronic/written correspondence. *Provide quality assurance reviews on active projects to limit contract modifications and implement lessons learned. *Field observation and documentation of municipality PPI/I construction projects, including coordination and prioritization of schedules with municipal staff, consultants, and contractors. *Maintain technical performance and keep the database current with completed private property work. *Complete routine MMSD policy and administrative related duties and tasks, such as invoice processing, project management, reporting, and meeting coordination. *Complete special projects, including but not limited to research assignments, presentations, public engagements, or reports. Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an office environment and is exposed to outside weather conditions 30% of the time. While outside, the employee may be exposed to extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, noise, fumes, and risk of electrical shock. Requires the use of safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, hard hat, coveralls, gloves, hearing protection, rain gear, and safety vest as dictated by the location and nature of work that is being performed. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: *Bachelor\'s degree in civil, environmental, or other water-related field; EIT status desirable. *Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience including construction inspection, or equivalent combination of education and experience in water *infrastructure work. Experience in private property projects desirable. *Public relations/public communication/customer service-related experience. Ability to apply proficient written and oral communication skills to the completion of all job duties. *Ability to keep accurate and detailed records, field notes, and to contribute to detailed technical reports and records. *Experience in reading, interpreting, and ev luating blueprints, specifications, and plans. *Knowledge of and ability to understand various construction codes and standards. *Knowledge of OSHA confined space entry procedures and construction site safety requirements. *Computer software proficiency. Experience in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and ArcGIS are desirable. *Valid driver\'s license and a good driving record at time of application and throughout employment.
