FTE: 1.000000 Shift: Shift 1 Job Summary: The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring clinical pharmacy practice and services at FMLH. He/she will oversee the daily activities of the department including, but not limited to pharmacokinetics, therapeutic drug monitoring, patient- controlled analgesia, antibiotic usage, drug policy initiatives, and decentral drug distribution. The Pharmacy Manager will work together with other Hospital clinicians to define and develop clinical practice as it relates to pharmacy and the improvement of patient care. Collaboration with other department managers to develop and implement new clinical pharmacy services will ensure the integration of pharmaceutical care throughout the Hospital. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of 3 years Hospital pharmacy experience or completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency and/or advanced degree is required. Displays a thorough understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics, acquired through a combination of school and experience, in order to recommend appropriate and patient specific therapeutic regimens and subsequently monitor outcomes. Experience in development of new clinical systems, innovative use of pharmacy extenders and improvement initiatives in the areas of clinical pharmacy practice is required.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: BS or Pharm. D. degree received from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy is required. Minimum of 3 years Hospital pharmacy experience or completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency and/or advanced degree is required.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Ability to successfully work in an interdisciplinary (or team) environment. Ability to communicate clearly, both in written and verbal mode. Ability to lead change in a non-threatening manner. Communicates effectively with staff and other health care professionals in a verbal and written mode. Demonstrates ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Demonstrate effective teaching ability. Displays effective knowledge and ability of new drug evaluations, drug use evaluations and program justifications. Displays strong leadership skills.
