Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining the campus space inventory and drawings of all campus facilities with a strong emphasis on utilizing a combination of CAD , REVIT , and other building information modeling software, as well as mapping & space management software such as ESRI Indoors/Geographic Information Systems ( GIS ). The Campus Space Analyst provides ongoing space data and analysis to support strategic planning, collaborates with campus stakeholders, and contributes to the overall functionality of the campus environment. This position is responsible for the active administration, implementation, and maintenance of campus space data management and the GIS / CAFM / CAD / BIM databases that support physical facilities owned by the University.
Responsibilities include maintenance of the campus space data inventory inclusive of all university facilities; development of recurring space data reporting methods to track and analyze changes to campus space over time and inform campus space planning and capital budget requests; and maintenance of accurate, current space-related facilities data inventory including integration and tracking of related building utility data. Additionally, this position will support ongoing building data tracking related to recurring Facility Condition Assessments ( FCA ).
Hybrid work options may be available. Work will be performed primarily on the UW-Milwaukee campus, with requests for remote work considered after the initial training period. Specifics regarding work location requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture or related field
Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and/or REVIT
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated proficiency working with floor plans and construction documents
Minimum of one year of experience in facilities planning and/or GIS planning, resulting in a sound knowledge of architectural graphic conventions or related fields
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency with space data management software (ex. GIS , ESRI Indoors, Archibus, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret data and generate analytical reports as needed to support campus decision-making
Previous experience in space management, facilities planning, or related roles within a higher education work environment
Demonstrable competency in database management & data analytics
Ability to translate data sets into reportable, shareable information
Understanding of building design and FICM space use codes
Experience tracking and managing building utility data
Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Knowledge of relevant building codes, ADA regulations, and space utilization best practices
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Master’s degree in related field (Urban Planning, Facilities Management, etc.)
Target Salary Range $65,000 - $80,000 (Final salary offer will be determined based on knowledge, skills, and experience)
