School/College/Division Description

The Wisconsin Child Welfare Partnership Development System ( WCWPDS ) is a major project unit housed within the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare ( HBSSW ) at UW-Milwaukee. In partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families ( DCF ) and the Wisconsin Child Welfare Partnership for Professional Development at UW-Madison, the WCWPDS -Milwaukee provides a full array of professional development and training services to the approximately 500 child welfare staff, supervisors and managers in Milwaukee as well as foster families and home visiting staff statewide. The WCWPDS team values inclusivity and diversity in all forms.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for a range of administrative duties associated with the scheduling, planning, documenting and communicating of program professional development offerings, conferences, and related meetings.

Major Responsibilities (In Order of Importance)

55% Training registration and customer service

  • Enter training sessions in computerized registration system ( PDS Online)

  • Assist participants in registering for scheduled offerings

  • Troubleshoot online training issues using Zoom and Canvas platforms

  • Monitor and communicate any registration issues (class size, space issues and low enrollment) with program managers

  • Answer registration and other questions about PDSonline from partners and training participants

  • Create “how-to” guides and other materials for PDSonline users as needed

  • Issue training credits as needed

  • Create regular and ad hoc reports as scheduled or requested

    45% Administrative support

  • Assist Administrative Operations Manager in developing annual/semi-annual training calendars

  • Enter training offerings into events planning system ( USI )

  • Create and maintain schedule of online trainings, communicating details and links to trainers and participants as needed

  • Assist Administrative Operations Manager in planning and executing annual Home Visiting conference

  • Schedule on-site training facilities

  • Gather required information needed to contract with training locations around the state

  • Produce training and other materials as needed

  • Monitor central email messaging system as needed

    Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience with office operations

  • At least 2 years of experience using events planning, registration, database management, or similar software

    Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience providing customer service in a fast-paced office environment

    Target Salary Range $20.00-$22.00/hour
