Fewer than one-third of our students are proficient in math. Together, we can help change this! As a Math Tutor, your crucial role will impact the lives of many children and offer vital assistance to those who need extra help in understanding math concepts. You will immerse yourself in a local school to support students in grades kindergarten through third- grade. You\'ll help them succeed by providing extra practice and skill-building in groups of 2 - 3 . With training and on-site coaching, you\'ll be prepared to empower students in their math journey. How You\'ll Take Action Be a caring adult who\'s focused on helping students build their skills and confidence. Track student progress and regularly meet with the school\'s on-site coach. Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software. Commit to your own growth as a tutor through coaching, training, and professional development. Anyone can become a tutor as long as they have a passion to make a difference - and meet the following minimum qualifications. By the time they begin their service, our tutors are: Dependable and have a history of good attendance. Able to understand and follow instructions. Open to making improvements based on feedback. Capable of setting a pace and maintaining a schedule with students. Competent with basic computer skills (like email and navigating online). Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing. 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
