Position overview

Boeing Defence UK Limited (BDUK) is responsible for delivering IT services to a number of customers both internal and external throughout the UK. As part of this integration process, a dedicated IT capability is being supported within the UK that can draw upon the considerable IT resources of the worldwide Boeing Company to deliver complex solutions to the business and its clients.

We are looking for an Experienced Systems Administrator to join our team to contribute to the Infrastructure Team to support Restricted Network. In the role the job holder will be performing a variety of tasks and will be involved collaborating with many teams across the company to deliver Projects and to provide sustainment activities.

Position responsibilities:

As an Experienced Systems Administrator your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Leading on Project implementation activities

Providing knowledge transfer within the teams

Providing comprehensive and timely communications to stakeholders

Technical lead on core technologies (Windows, Active Directory, Sharepoint)

Technical lead on secure Domain separation

Escalation point for technical issues

Reporting and escalation to leadership team

Client and project meetings

The job holder should not be constrained by a rigid job specification and should be willing to pick up additional duties as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with VMWare, VXRail and Windows technologies

Experience with Sharepoint

Experience with  Unix/Linux would be an advantage

Knowledge ITIL processes

Knowledge of products such as SCCM, Skype, Exchange, Active Directory would be highly beneficial

Great communication skills

The job holder should be keen on learning new skills while working within the Infrastructure functions. The job holder should also be a good team player as working with the various Infrastructure Teams, Architects and Project Managers will be a major part of this role.


This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
