About the Job

Our software system is set up using micro service architecture to support the connected services features which includes Stolen Vehicle Tracking (SVT), ECall (Emergency Call) & BCall (Breakdown call). We offer these to external vendors as SaaS services, which include the integrations of several Webservices with third-party clients.

  • Located in Milton Keynes, UK, working with the local team.

  • This position is not eligible for employment sponsorship.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll join our core development team, and under the guidance of the Head of Development – Connected Services, design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using .NET framework on cloud-based and on-premises applications.

Clean Code Development & TDD: Proficient in writing clean, efficient C#.NET code for Web APIs and back-end .NET Core solutions while adopting Test Driven Development (TDD) to ensure high code quality.

Code Review & Collaboration: Experienced in participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and collaborating with internal teams to design software and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Application Maintenance & Performance Optimization: Skilled in updating, debugging, and maintaining secure cloud-based and on-premises applications using AWS, with a focus on optimizing existing codebases for performance and maintainability.

Error Analysis & Technical Support: Capable of analyzing and resolving application errors, providing technical support, and working closely with the QA team to ensure features meet acceptance criteria.

Integration & Cloud Solutions: Assist system architects in delivering quality integrations with third-party vendors and collaborating with vendors for cloud migration or system integration.

Agile Methodologies: Engage actively in scrum meetings, story estimation, planning, and retrospectives to foster an agile development environment.

CI/CD Deployment & UAT Support: Prepare release contents for deployment through Microsoft CI/CD pipelines and support UAT testers to maximize the uptime of SaaS solutions.

About you:

You’ll be based within commuting distance to our office in Kents Hill, Milton Keynes and have full rights to work in the UK.

To excel in this role, you will have:

Educational Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or information technology.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in C#.NET & .NET Core programming, with proven skills in .NET development following coding standards.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of ASP.NET, SQL Server, Web API, Entity Framework.

  • Strong knowledge of OOPS concepts, SOLID principles, and TDD.

  • Strong knowledge of SOAP, RESTful API, XML, JSON, and LINQ.

  • Experience with version control systems like TFS/Git.

Problem-Solving & Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and drive to root cause, along with strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels.

Effective time management skills: That enhance productivity and ensure timely delivery of projects.

Basic Cloud Understanding: Basic understanding of AWS cloud services like DynamoDB, EC2 instances, SQS, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, and CloudFormation (training can be provided).

Enthusiasm: For exploring and mastering new technologies.

Desirable:

  • Understanding or experience with programming languages like Python, Node.js, and JavaScript.

  • Knowledge of location services like GIS or geospatial technologies.
