We are looking for an exceptional Software Manager to join our innovative product development engineering team at Spectra-Physics, which is part of the Lasers Business Unit of MKS Instruments. We push the boundaries of technology to develop a wide range of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond lasers that address the needs of Industrial, Scientific, and Life and Health Sciences markets. In this position, you will contribute to the design and develop ment of new free-space and fiber-based laser systems , providing firmware and software to enable new laser technologies . You will work collaboratively within a project team and use your communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional team members .

What you will do is:

  • Manage the embedded firmware and user interface development team

  • Develop and support innovative products that solve our customers ’ most pressing challenges

  • Contribute to develop ment of system architecture and behavior roadmap

  • Define and update version control, issue-track ing, regression testing , and code review procedures

  • Develop specifications for appropriate product interfaces for customers, engineers, and technicians.

    What you will bring to the team , along with your curiosity, is :

  • Strong understanding of embedded firmware techniques and challenges , along with embedded operating systems e xperience

  • Experience with I/O devices such as ADC, DAC, and FP GA and interfaces such as I2C, SPI, RS232, USB, Ethernet

  • Proficiency programming in C, C++, and C# using Keil IDE for ARM and Visual Studio for Windows GUI development

  • Demonstrated expertise working in a product development and transfer - to - manufacturing environment

  • BS degree and 7 + years industry experience (or equivalent advanced education)

  • Positive attitude for working with a diverse, dynamic, and multi-disciplinary team

    Salary Pay Range: $111,900.00 to 207,900.00 per year. This range is a good faith esti mate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.  At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

    Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
