Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing maintenance and repair duties in campus buildings
Major Duties :
Maintains plumbing systems by repairing fixtures, pipes, and drainage systems
Performs rough and finished carpentry work. Designs, builds and maintains wooden structure.
Performs masonry work, including repairing walls.
Installs and repairs door locks.
Fabricates and welds parts.
Installs and maintains electrical wiring and fixtures by repairing or replacing switches, lighting receptacles and/or electrical controls.
Assists with repairing and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems.
Purchases materials needed for maintenance projects.
Position Requirements:
Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials and tools of the electrical, carpentry, masonry, and plumbing trades
Skill in using a variety of hand and bench tools
Skill in performing plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, HVAC and painting maintenance and repair work.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
2 years maintenance experience
