STEP AmeriCorps Student Mentor
STEP AmeriCorps is a great opportunity for anyone who is a student or paying off student loans! Whether you are a recent graduate taking a gap year, someone re-entering the workforce, or a retiree who wants to give back to the community, we have service opportunities for you.

Who you are: STEP AmeriCorps is looking for individuals who are interested in serving the community while earning a living stipend and money toward their education or student loans. Individuals must commit to serving 1200 hours over the school year.
*About the role: *This is not a permanent full- time job opportunity. This is a service opportunity with STEP AmeriCorps for the 2024-2025 school year with the potential to serve up to 4 years. Members will provide behavioral and academic mentorship, both one on one and in groups, to students at the Keystone Central School District. There will be positions available at the Elementary, Middle and High School levels. Daily schedule will be determined by the hours of assigned school location.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 1 year experience with on the job interpersonal communications
- Must be able to pass Criminal History Clearances; Act 34 Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History, Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse, and Act 114 FBI Criminal History clearances;
- Valid driver's license; and,
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions without any health restrictions including the ability to move freely about the school, to sit, stand, carry twenty pounds unassisted, have unrestricted use of the upper body, corrected or uncorrected hearing and vision within normal ranges, and a clear speaking voice.
Additionally, all STEP AmeriCorps members are required to perform the following list of AmeriCorps related duties and events:
- Attend mandatory team meetings;
- Complete mandatory AmeriCorps monthly service and outcome reports;
- Complete mandatory weekly time logs in a timely fashion;
- Complete mandatory journals;
- Develop, plan and participate in various mandatory AmeriCorps events such as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, AmeriCorps Week activities and other service projects; and,
- Participate in host site and AmeriCorps trainings as scheduled.
