Alene Candles Pack Out Production Line Lead - 1st Shift in Milford, New Hampshire

The Position

You will be responsible for Pack end operation and employees in Pack end zone. This will include but not limited to staffing, training, achieving efficiency standards, ensuring a quality product is produced, and achieving scheduled completion dates. Downtime will be tracked by you and corrective actions coordinated with the Pack End Assistant Supervisor. You will work with the Assistant Supervisor to ensure training is achieved, work orders are communicated, setups are completed, and the right tooling and fixtures are on-line for the appropriate jobs. You will be required to collect and report on key production data as defined by the Manufacturing Supervisor. You will be responsible for 5S and continuous improvement activities on their respective lines and will provide support for department and site 5S and continuous improvement efforts. You set the example for respectful leadership and cooperation and assist in motivating employees to achieve work goals.

Rate of Pay

The Production Line Lead position pays $20.00/hr.

The Hours

Monday - Thursday, 1st Shift, from 5:30am - 3:30pm.

During our busy season, we anticipate there being some overtime available. Busy season is typically August-December but is subject to change based on production needs.

The Location

We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH. This position is onsite.

The Production Line Lead is perfect for someone with great communication and leadership skills! You will be responsible for ensuring your work area is running at peak efficiency and keeping morale high. Safety compliance is a huge part of this position, and it is your job to ensure that the employees you are leading go home in one piece. Additional Job Details

  • Fully adhere to and comply with all safety rules and regulations

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment

  • Immediately report any improper operations, faulty equipment/tooling, defective materials, or unusual conditions to the material lead or supervisor

  • Follow the 5s guidelines:

  • Create and maintain a clean work environment on the production floor

  • Report any unsafe work areas to ensure a safe working environment

  • Keep all lines free from obstacles and trash

  • Constantly observe and actively promote changes, improvements, and sustained compliance with guidelines

  • Take daily attendance for the Zone and promptly report any inaccuracies to the Assistant Supervisor

  • Use internal computer software to accurately track attendance and orders for the day

  • Assist or relieve as a candle maker when required to prevent shutdowns

  • Accurately record weights and enter information into the weights database

  • Make necessary valve adjustments to ensure job standard quality

  • Collaborate with the Pour Technician to set up machines and equipment and ensure lines are in optimal operating condition

  • Maximize line efficiency with minimal supervision

  • Write routine reports proficiently

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Read and understand Manufacturing Assembly Process, including deviations if necessary

  • Organize and monitor workflow to achieve quality, efficiency, and daily goals

  • Resolve personnel issues on the line:

  • Identify solutions

  • Recommend appropriate actions

  • Report issues to the Assistant Supervisor

  • Lead and direct all production line operators

  • Be flexible and capable of running all lines as required

  • Utilize various hand tools as needed

  • Use a hand jack when necessary

  • Demonstrate knowledge of different wax types and their characteristics

  • Quickly identify issues and implement necessary solutions

  • Spot defects and determine root causes

  • Coordinate corrective action with minimal supervision

  • Collaborate effectively with multiple departments

  • Strictly comply with all safety regulations

  • Adhere to quality control methods

  • Ensure systematic rotation of all personnel across the line for cross-training, safety, and ergonomic purposes

  • Operate various machines with proficiency

  • Effectively communicate any equipment issues to maintenance and supervisors

  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills to foster valuable teamwork

  • Ensure that the assigned line consistently meets daily goals, safety requirements, and follows quality standards

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)

  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing environment

  • Previous lead or supervisory experience

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

  • Ability to understand quality control methods.

  • Ability to use various machines and practical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the products manufactured in the factory.

  • Good communication skills to deliver valuable teamwork.

  • Able to follow and execute instructions.

  • Accurate, patient, careful, responsible, and quick and alert.

  • Microsoft Office
