Access Control Systems Inc. Field Service Technician- Entry Level in Milford, New Hampshire
Position Summary:
This position is for a technical minded individual seeking a career in Electro-Mechanical diagnostics, repair and general maintenance. All training is provided, both in-house and through our manufacturing partners. Advancement in the company is the objective.
Essential Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include, but are not limited to, the duties described below:
- Loads, unloads, delivers, and removes systems from client sites.
- Provides technical support to field service staff.
- Sets up and utilizes specialized test and diagnostic equipment and other products under supervision.
- Installs, repairs and documents maintenance of equipment other products under supervision.
- Replaces defective units/components as appropriate under supervision.
- Performs site acceptance tests and equipment/system acceptance.
- Disassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces simple and complex electro-mechanical assemblies and modules under supervision.
Other Responsibilities:
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle.
- Retain receipts, mileage documentation and other miscellaneous items for monthly expense reimbursement report management.
- Obtain/Maintain all necessary security clearances, DOT Medical Certification and manufacturer technical service certifications as directed.
- Perform other responsibilities and functions as may be requested.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Candidates, at a minimum must successfully pass pre-employment screening to include arrest, felony and misdemeanor criminal history, drug screening and driving record history. Additional client and government required clearance may be required and will be essential to the continuance of employment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of technical school or military training in electronics engineering technology or a related field a plus.
- Must have a strong knowledge of electronic and mechanical assemblies as well as wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Neat appearance and excellent customer interface and communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Applications: MS-DOS, Win NT, Win XP, MS Office, as well as Linux OS, IOS and Android.
- Must be team player with ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available to travel on short notice, non-standard hours, some travel on weekends, some overnight travel, and assist other field sites as required.
- Must be capable of lifting 150 pounds.
- Must have own tools.
- Must be able to work without reasonable accommodations.
Physical Demands:
Flow of work and character of duties involve the coordination of manual dexterity, and normal mental and visual attention, or part-time normal and part-time concentration and coordination. Activities: Walking, stooping, squatting, lifting, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, standing, carrying, fingering/keyboarding, seeing, working speed, sitting, driving, flying, etc.
Work Environment and Environmental Conditions:
No, or minimal, hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions, such as in a typical workshop, warehouse or loading dock environment. Work is performed at various client facilities including jails, court houses, manufacturing plants, etc.
