Global Product Manager Air Circuit Breakers (ACB)
based in Budapest, Vienna, Bonn, Prague, Warsaw or other Eaton EMEA location
What you’ll do:
As Global Product Manager for Air Circuit Breakers you are responsible to drive alignment on definition and execution of product line’s strategy globally; leading the growth strategy and all facets of product marketing, product development strategy, profitability, and technology roadmaps; and supporting the global manufacturing strategy. managing the entire product life cycle and all product relevant issues (costs, footprint, quality, price positioning) between all Eaton regions. Furthermore, you are responsible for end-to-end product performance and for providing support as a technical and commercial expert for target market segments.
Create and coordinate execution of globally aligned product strategy for Air Circuit Breakers for specific application/market segment
Responsible for complete Product Lifecycle management of global Air Circuit Breaker products and creation of strategic long term GPL Product Roadmaps
Continuously follows competition, analyses underlying global market trends and evolving regulatory requirements that lead to new opportunities in specific segments
Drive innovation and new product development projects jointly with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and Business Development global and regional functions
Ensure execution of all product launches (hard and soft), working closely with regional marketing communications, engineering, sales and product line teams
Define Value proposition for New Product Introductions (NPI) ensuring successful commercial launch in selected regions and market competitiveness
Establish Product Positioning approach in alignment with regional product management structures (pricing, specification level, promotion, placement) that maximizes product portfolio utilization and profitability
Develops comprehensive price/volume strategies to support Eaton’s financial performance targets. Jointly working with regional sales teams to formulate value propositions and pricing strategies. Strategies should be market driven, based on value proposition and competitive landscape
Lead and coordinate annual R&D Planning efforts for respective global Air Breaker product portfolio by creating and aligning strategic project proposals between regions
Contribute to Make vs. Buy / M&A evaluation and provide input on manufacturing footprint strategy for specific product introductions
Create and update presentations, spreadsheets and status reports as needed (Ops reviews, profit plan, staff meetings, sales meetings, customer meetings, market share files, etc.)
Drive efficiency and global / regional Air Circuit Breaker cost out opportunities
Manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders GLOBAL and REGIONAL (incl. C-Level Executive communication)
Qualifications and Skills:
Engineering, business or marketing university degree preferred; MBA is a plus
5+ years of experience with breaker products, low voltage systems and/or connected products is preferred
Strong Individual contributor with ability to collaborate across global matrix organization and influence people (that are not direct reports)
Excellent customer, presentation, and communication skills
Market and competitive research, statistical analysis for forecasting
Strong learning agility and being able to apply this in challenging environments
Ability to learn market influences. Develop detailed market analysis and build business cases for new product introductions
Customer value creation and value pricing
Manufacturing / operations awareness, understanding, and financial impact to product line performance
Product application knowledge, good business acumen, and the ability to develop and execute tactical and strategic plans to support the product line's goals
Willingness and ability to provide a leadership role within the department and motivate peers and team members
