Google Director, Data Center Delivery, North America Central Region in Midlothian, Texas

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Construction Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • 15 years of experience in the design and construction industry, managing multiple projects.

  • 15 years of experience with data center equipment/environments including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems.

  • Experience managing managers, developing teams, multi-group and multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Experience with start up/commissioning processes.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within the region to various data center project locations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Construction Engineering.

  • Experience in and owner role managing and delivering facility design and construction.

  • Ability to translate ideas and capabilities into initiatives that exceed customer expectations.

  • Strong leadership and critical thinking skills.

As a Director for the North America Central Region, you will be responsible for the delivery and execution of data center capacity projects and will contribute to the development of data center operations strategies and implementation of infrastructure. You also direct multiple complex workstreams with competing priorities, and influence the organization to drive alignment of different strategies in line with business development and business generation goals that impact the scope of management.

As a Director in the organization, you must have a consistent delivery approach for the region. The consistency includes the relationship with internal and external stakeholders. You are accountable for safety (wellness), scope, cost, quality and schedule. You'll lead the collaboration of a heavily matrixed team that includes the Construction Safety team, Program Controls Group (PCG), Quality, Supplier Inclusion and Estimating teams. You will focus on the alignment and standardization with your region and the rest of the North America-South America regions. This includes the leadership to collaborate with and across the internal stakeholder.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$340,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Manage teams across existing sites as well as new sites. Manage the teams which are responsible for the site-wide delivery of major new construction or improvement projects.

  • Establish and maintain delivery models and relationships with multiple vendors measuring KPIs and metrics.

  • Create a growth plan and be directly involved in resource planning of talent in the areas of technical program management/program management and engineering.

  • Research and implement new construction means and methods of data center equipment and facilities. Carry design concepts into mass production and integrate into facilities.
