Robert Half Controller in Midland, Texas

Description We are on the lookout for a Controller to join our team in Midland, Texas. This role falls under the accounting industry and involves overseeing the accurate and timely reporting of financial statements to owners and stakeholders, managing complex transactions, and handling a range of tax reporting duties.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the monthly financial statement reporting to owners and stakeholders for multiple entities.

• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Record complex transactions that may affect multiple entities.

• Handle monthly and annual sales tax reporting for Texas and New Mexico.

• Prepare monthly and weekly journal entries, including accrual entries.

• Manage fixed assets and large depreciation schedules.

• Oversee 1099 preparation and electronic filing for all entities.

• Handle oil and gas accounting, including working interest, royalty payments, and joint interest billings.

• Manage Accounts Receivable and Payable, and monitor aging reports.

• Allocate monthly costs between entities and perform heavy analytics of financial data to create financial models.

• Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.

• Act as a backup for payroll processing, review for submission, code, and input weekly payroll into QuickBooks for multiple entities.

• Liaise for health and supplemental insurance renewals for employees and gather data for annual workers' comp and other insurance audits.

• Manage debt and cash.

• Perform financial forecasting, including cash and liquidity analysis.

• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, and easily explain variances to the CEO.

• Maintain existing and propose new internal controls.

• Prepare tax forms 1065 and 1120-S for smaller entities and submit data for larger entities to CPA firm.

• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledgers.

• Use various skills such as proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, DCAA, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, and Budget Processes. • Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of DCAA

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Expertise in ERP Solutions

• Ability to manage Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing

• Knowledge of Budget Processes
