DowLaminating Adhesives has an opening for aSupply Chain Scheduling Specialist.This role can be located inMidland, MI, Ringwood, IL, Elk Grove, IL.

About you and this role

This role coordinates directly with the Business Supply Chain Planner, Procurement, the Ringwood, IL manufacturing site and all associated functions The scheduler balances supply and demand over the operational horizon, to achieve optimum product availability, asset utilization and supply chain efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Generates a time-phased production and raw material delivery schedule aligned to the business requirements in the short-term, while considering plant wide constraints, and meeting inventory and customer service targets.

  • Determines the required production, raw and packaging materials based on the needs of the plan and generates the appropriate process and purchase orders.

  • Where applicable, implements external manufacturing agreements or executes agreements already in place.

  • Owns and operates site or regional planning models (provides functional expertise for model operation; assures most efficient use of information technology).

  • Serves as a local site coordinator/planner for integration of internal demand, utilities or environmental operations at a particular location.

  • Routinely checks and tracks inventory quantity, slow-moving or other inventory statuses and ensures that inventory volumes meet the plan.

  • Identifies, prioritizes and addresses supply issues (e.g. short-term capacity constraints, product shortage, emergency customer order received, uncovered production requirement, etc.)

  • Leads collaboration with customer service, manufacturing, logistics, third-party service providers and business partners to meet business obligations in case of unplanned events.

  • Ensures proper maintenance of production parameters (material masters, work centers, routings) to ensure effective planning in SAP ECC.

  • Follows best practices, procedures and governance over master data.

  • Supports global supply chain initiatives by interfacing with other supply chain personnel in the business and other functional partners.

  • Drives continuous improvement by periodically reviewing and providing recommendations to the current production schedule

Critical Competencies:supply chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, team work, team management and delegation, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills, and independent decision making skills.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant (supply chain discipline preferred).

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • Systems knowledge in OMP, ERP transactions and Microsoft Office applications

  • 1-3 years of relevant supply chain experience

Additional Note: Relocation assistance is not available with this position.

This role is currently part of Dow’s Laminating Adhesives business. The ownership of this business is being transferred to Arkema, with closing expected to occur by the end of 2024.
