Job Description

Position Summary:

As a Sr QC Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the flawless quality and performance of our products. This is a unique opportunity to join a world-class team and contribute to the advancement of scientific research and innovation. In this role, you will perform laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using a range of methods and automated systems. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining consistent product performance and quality.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory analysis on products/materials

  • Evaluate data and prepare technical summaries and supporting reports

  • Prepare samples for testing and test and release products in accordance with procedures

  • Schedule testing to meet departmental and plant commitments

  • Troubleshoot test procedures and instruments and determine appropriate course of action

  • Evaluate analytical results and determine conformance to specification

  • Maintain instruments/equipment and perform calibrations

  • Prepare data summaries and reports for technical input

  • Maintain required records/logs and working laboratory inventory

  • Train laboratory personnel on procedures and equipment operations

  • Support other laboratory functions as necessary

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of laboratory experience in Analytical Chemistry, Immunoassay, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, or Clinical Chemistry

  • Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting capabilities

  • Proficiency in analytical testing techniques

  • Ability to organize data for presentation and prepare reports

  • Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs

  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with multiple priorities

  • Flexibility to work overtime or staggered shifts

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal laboratory/office environment

  • Frequent communication and walking to other areas

  • Sitting and standing

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 45 pounds
