Job Description

AMERICAN SYSTEMS has an immediate part time opening for a Senior Principal Program Manager to Undersea/Seabed Warfare SME expertise supporting the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC). We are seeking a mission-driven SME with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and a Counterintelligence Polygraph to become a leader of our team. The successful candidate will provide for technical direction of our services to Undersea/Seabed Warfare projects.

A week in the life of a Senior Principal Program Manager – Undersea/Seabed Warfare Projects:

  • Drive a dedicated team that provides technical support in the execution of systems engineering in the preparation of prototype development and testing.

  • Direct the services of systems engineers, designer/drafters, and our Submarine Alteration Installation Team, when required.

  • Drive engineering design and technical services for Undersea/Seabed Warfare projects to include production of Alteration documentation when integrating these into the submarine environment.

  • Provide for the Undersea/Seabed Warfare project User Representative perspective during Systems Engineering Technical Reviews to include developing and presenting Concept of Operations and Concepts of Employment on behalf of systems sponsors.

  • Coordinate and communicate complex timelines with government sponsors and recommend alternative engineered solutions and corrective actions.

Job Requirements

  • B.S. from an ABET-accredited school in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 25 years of experience or M.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 20 years of experience

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Counterintelligence Polygraph

At least 25 years of experience in:

  • Undersea/Seabed Warfare and Submarine Mechanical and Electronics Systems

  • Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Outlook).

  • Excellent problem solving, communications, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to drive development of innovative technical solutions to difficult problems.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to approach job responsibilities with a focus on process improvement.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
