JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Harrisburg is seeking an International Student Success Coordinator to support international students in navigating the university framework, ensuring their academic success, and promoting retention efforts. This role will be dedicated to addressing the needs of international students from pre-arrival through graduation, offering guidance and resources to foster a positive academic experience. This position is a term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Address international student retention by assisting newly admitted students with the university framework and navigating academic and social life.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for international students, liaising with various campus partners including faculty, staff, Advising, Multicultural Resources, Care and Advocacy, SDR, CAPS, Tutoring, Career Services, and more.

  • Establish a visible presence among international students through pre-arrival communication and ongoing support throughout their academic journey.

  • Coordinate and facilitate events such as welcome receptions, transportation services for arriving students, and graduation celebrations.

  • Provide programming initiatives to both current and incoming international students centered around adjusting to life in the U.S. and academic success.

  • Conduct focus group sessions to gather feedback from international students, making adjustments to services to enhance their experience at Penn State.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform reporting and continuously improve student support services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
