This is a position with global grade 15 This position reports to IAPI Service Midwest Region Operations Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility. The work model for the role is: remote This role is contributing to the Process Automation Process Industries division in the Midwest Region You will be mainly accountable for: Maintaining quality control hardware and software. Answering customer questions about the state of the ABB system. Resolving customer service related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on-site. Dealing directly with and communicating effectively with plant operators, plant management, third party vendors and other ABB personnel in support of service operations Being on call for 24 hour emergency support service requests. Team rotation in most areas Accurately documenting the work that is performed for periodic preventive maintenance and intermittent corrective maintenance tasks. Playing an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations or newable}. Coordinating work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments Working safely including completing all assigned training and following all HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies and procedures. Qualifications for the role Associate's degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related work/military experience required or High School diploma/GED and minimum 7 years of related work/military experience required Mechanical/Electrical aptitude including a basic understanding of electrical theory, electrical safety Experience diagnosing malfunctioning electrical systems of up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and performing preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment Exposure to PLC programming and troubleshooting is beneficial Travel up to 80 percent maybe required for training and assisting various sites Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Benefits Retirement plan Life insurance Disability insurance Healthcare plan Wellbeing program More about us Process Industries division delivers complete electrification and automation solutions, industry-specific products and lifecycle services across industries.
