What You Will Do:

The Pratt & Whitney Cold Section Module Center ME Organization is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the production of commercial and military hardware in our turbine discs and hubs business unit. Join our team as we work to insource new work into the shop and transform the departments and Cell layouts. This role will support multitude of interesting and exciting processes including, but not limited to, peening, part marking, and surface finishing. Expand your skills and knowledge alongside seasoned ME’s as we proceed on this journey to stand up new hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Help build and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements.)

  • Identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs.

  • Participate in the Standard Production System (SPS) roll-out and initiatives as a Process Engineer supporting daily ANDON’s, Tier Meetings, and Real Time Problem Resolution (RTPR) events.

  • Significant interaction with the hourly work force, tool designers, quality assurance, Integrated Product Teams, systems designers, Information Systems, and program assembly partners are typical of the position.

  • Provide focused & effective leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factor risks and addressing quality issues.

  • Experience in the following types of processes would be of great benefit, but not required: peening, media finishing, dot-peen marking.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial)

  • A Bachelors Degree and minimum 5+ years prior relevant experience, or

  • A Masters Degree and minimum 2+ years prior relevant experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency leading and managing a portfolio of cross functional projects

  • Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Able to use Minitab and other statistical software

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • CORE/ 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification

  • Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics a plus.

  • Strong understanding of other continuous improvement skills: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
