Location/Division Specific Information

This position is a remote-based role within the Chemical Analysis Division, a part of Thermo Fisher’s Analytical Instruments Group.

Discover Impactful Work

We are seeking a creative and upbeat Senior Market Development Specialist to join our growing Market Development team in the Chemical Analysis division to drive demand for equipment and services used to rapidly characterize and process various materials in research and industrial markets.

Collaborating with our product line and commercial teams, you will translate business strategies for the development of effective marketing plans, evaluate market opportunities, and develop campaigns and initiatives that move target customers from initial awareness to consideration to purchase.

A Day in the Life

  • Understand customer and market needs so you can reliably communicate value propositions; delivering impactful messages to the right customer at the right time.

  • Demonstrate creativity in strategy, planning and execution to develop marketing projects that gain target audience attention and build company brands.

  • Leverage available data to gain insights into marketing performance and guide strategic directions, communication channel selection, and media buying.

  • Use your content marketing experience to adapt technical content into persuasive, effective messaging.

  • Collaborate with product management and sales teams to build and implement launch strategies that drive rapid adoption of new products.

  • Understand business and product line growth strategies, financials, and market landscape. Develop marketing strategies and campaigns that align to business priorities and drive growth.

  • Develop effective collateral that educates customers and enables solutions selling.

  • Plan and track budgets, schedules and performance requirements for the assigned product line(s) and project(s).

  • Work closely with internationally based regional marketing colleagues to scale marketing campaigns in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and other emerging markets.

Keys to Success

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business-Marketing, scientific subject areas, or a related field is strongly preferred; an MBA is desirable.

Experience:

  • Previous experience (5-10 years) in a marketing / demand generation role required.

  • Experience planning and driving multi-channel marketing campaigns required.

  • Experience marketing technical / scientific products preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A strategic marketer with ability to complete detailed projects, while understanding the bigger picture will excel in this role.

  • Excellent communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills are vital.

  • Proficiency developing, implementing, tracking and analyzing marketing campaigns is vital.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft® Office® Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) required.

  • Experience working with generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) is valued.

  • Experience with salesforce.com CRM and Eloqua a plus.
