Middlebury College Kitchen Associate (Porter) in Middlebury, Vermont

Middlebury College Dining is seeking multitasking superstar to join our team as a Kitchen Associate! This is more than just a job - it's an opportunity to be part of a vibrant team in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $17.60-21.55 per hour. We understand the importance of work-life balance. We're open to discussing a schedule that works for you, including the option of working four 10-hour days to enjoy a three-days off.

Job duties:

  • Dishwashing: Keep our kitchen sparkling clean by washing dishes with precision and efficiency.

  • Prep Cooking: Assist our chefs in preparing delicious meals by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.

  • Cashier: Provide exceptional customer service at our register, handling transactions with accuracy and a friendly demeanor.

  • Cleaning: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas to ensure a safe and inviting environment for our guests.

  • Stocking Shelves: Keep our shelves fully stocked with essential items to meet our teams’ and customers' needs.

Requirements

  • No formal education or previous experience is required. We value a willingness to learn and are eager to train the right candidate!

  • General knowledge of safety and sanitary practices in food service areas is preferred

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Must be physically able to lift 25 lbs. numerous times during the day and up to 50 lbs above the waist level on occasions. Must be able to lift, as well as push and pull up to 150 lbs. frequently. This job requires frequent and repetitive bending, twisting, and overhead reaching. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in hot and humid conditions.
