Vail Resorts Financial Reporting Manager in Michigan

Job Summary:

The Financial Reporting Manager will be an integral team member of the Financial Reporting team and report to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting. This individual will play a critical role in supporting external reporting to key stakeholders, various internal and external reporting obligations, as well as supporting the month-end process (including posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and other various accounting tasks). The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, motivated individual and a self-starter who can identify opportunities, propose solutions, and drive process improvements to completion in a deadline-oriented team environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other Financial Reporting team members to prepare and ensure the accuracy of publicly-issued quarterly and annual financial reports (Form 10-Q and 10-K filings) and Board of Director materials, including performing detailed tie-outs and internal controls in compliance with SOX standards.

  • Support the preparation and filing of Section 16 forms with the SEC (Forms 3, 4 and 5) to ensure timely and accurate reporting of insider transactions.

  • Assist with the administration and accounting for the company’s equity compensation plan, including annual vesting and grant procedures.

  • Perform the administration and accounting for the company’s leases under ASC 842.

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including performing account reconciliations and posting journal entries.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports for certain domestic subsidiaries as required by external stakeholders.

  • Prepare internal financial reports for executive management, as well as other monthly variance and financial analyses to support the Financial Reporting team.

  • Act as a key liaison with external auditors for quarterly reviews, annual audits, and internal control testing.

  • Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc requests for analyses and information, as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required (or demonstrated experience in lieu of education).

  • At least three years of experience which includes public accounting and/or financial reporting experience. Technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP and SEC requirements preferred.

  • CPA preferred.

  • Detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Experience with Workiva, Blackline, AMT, ShareWorks and/or PeopleSoft Financials a plus.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, including remote work with geographically dispersed team members.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $77,000 - $90,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
