Aeroseal QA Engineer in Miamisburg, Ohio

QA Engineer

SUMMARY:

Aeroseal is looking for a QA Engineer that will assist us in our mission by testing and validating our software and firmware products when used with multiple hardware versions and different field application use cases. Streamlining UI and enhancing UX will be the key metrics/ deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

3-5 Year Experience required.

• Proven experience in testing along with hardware, field applications.

• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

• Proficiency in using test automation tools and frameworks.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

• Experience in developing automated tests for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).

• Experience with developing automated tests with .NET, python is a plus.

• Exposure to software development life cycle, agile/scrum and test-driven development methodologies

• Familiarity with working with embedded systems, different communication protocols, board microprocessors, XBee will be a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Test Planning and Design:

o Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for software and firmware components when used with different hardware & applications.

o Collaborate with development teams to understand product specifications and requirements.

o Identify and document test scenarios, test data, and expected outcomes.

o Work closely with departments within the company to determine product testing parameters and establish a framework necessary for product qualification and validation.

o Review and execute process to ensure test solutions received is adequate and meets all agreed requirements and expectations

• Testing and Validation:

o Execute manual and automated tests to evaluate the functionality, performance, and reliability of software.

o Perform regression testing to ensure that new features and updates do not negatively impact existing functionality (features, alerts, alarms).

o Conduct compatibility testing across different platforms & devices.

• Application Testing:

o Simulate field situations and user variability to ensure the product performs well under diverse conditions.

o Develop and execute test scenarios that mimic real-world usage patterns and environments.

o Gather and analyze user feedback to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.

• UI Interface and Customer Experience (CX):

o Test user interfaces to ensure they are intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly.

o Evaluate the overall customer experience by simulating end-user interactions and providing feedback on usability.

o Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure that the product meets customer expectations and provides a seamless experience.

• Bug Identification and Reporting:

o Identify, document, and track defects and issues using bug tracking tools.

o Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.

o Provide clear and detailed bug reports, including steps to reproduce, screenshots, and logs.

• Agile/Scrum

o Work within an Agile process to integrate testing into the development cycle, ensuring timely and continuous feedback.

o Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to align testing efforts with development goals.

• Continuous Improvement:

o Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.

The estimated pay range for this role is $65,000 to $100,000. Actual pay is based on various factors including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's experience, skills, knowledge, and job location. Please note that the compensation details listed in role postings reflect the base salary and do not include bonuses or benefits.
