Our facility in Miamisburg, Ohio is home to our Defense and Aerospace Business Unit with strategic leadership and administration responsibilities for the global defense organization. This site specializes in the design, manufacture and test of energetic safety systems including electronic safe, arm and fire (ESAF) devices and firing modules (FMs), ignition safety devices (ISDs), custom energetics, and Blue Chip detonators and serves a variety of high-performance applications including precision munitions, tactical missiles, launch vehicles, and strategic missiles. We are presently seeking an Assembler I that will perform any combination of the following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products or systems. Responsibilities: Receives detailed instructions on all work, under close supervision; Detail oriented with proven ability to learn new processes and systems; Positions, aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in fixture or other holding device; Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as soldering, potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy, bonding, curing, laser welding, operation of pneumatic machinery, pneumatic presses, etc.; Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases or other packing material; May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device; Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; Intermittent OVERTIME (including over eight working hours in a day and Saturday); Some bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, mild lifting of a 10 pounds or less; Some assemblers are required to intermittently lift up to 50 pounds; Mounts assembled components such as resistors, capacitors and integrated circuits; Connects components, wires to printed circuit or route via soldering; Adjusts, trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics; Performs inline testing, inspection using measuring instruments and electrical test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production standards; Ability to cross train on other programs in the facility; Ability to perform various repair/rework operations using approved written procedures; As a skilled employee, completes tasks in a resourceful and effective way; Ability to work from schematics, blue print drawings; Ability to perform any other job related task assigned by your supervisor/manager. Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six to twenty-four (6-24) months of industrial experience or similar training; Must be able to read schematics and assembly prints, as well as being thoroughly familiar with such assembly operations as wiring, welding, bonding and soldering; Certain job assignments require the ability to obtain and maintain an IPC/J-STD Certification within 90 days of employment and throughout your tenure; Familiarity with ISO 9001 qualification; Ability to achieve a security clearance; Must be able to effectively communicate and engage with all levels of the organization verbally and in writing; Possesses intermediate computer skills including
