The IT PMO Sr. Manager will lead the IT Program Management Office (PMO) for Cordis IT, driving alignment between IT initiatives and business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Portfolio, Program, and Project Management, as well as strong strategic influence, financial management and leadership capabilities. This role partners with business units, regions, and functions across Cordis and serves as a critical IT leadership role.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of IT Program and Project Managers, ensuring successful completion of IT programs/projects that deliver intended benefits on time, within scope, and budget.
Drive the alignment of IT projects, programs, and portfolios with organizational goals to ensure measurable value delivery.
Direct IT programs/projects, including establishing program governance, communication, program monitoring & control as well as ensuring alignment with defined IT Compliance (Validation) and Quality Regulatory procedures.
Establish and maintain processes and tools within the IT PMO to track project spend, including approved budgets, actuals and forecasts
Ensure compliance to defined Execution Framework governance and deliverables for all IT programs/projects
Develop strategies, project portfolios and build organizational capability to support the business.
Recruit and hire new Project/Program Managers (full-time associates and Contingent Workers) as demanded by workload
Provide strategic recommendations to leadership for prioritization and execution of IT initiatives.
Establish governance frameworks that ensure scalability, adaptability, and compliance in complex and regulated environments.
Build and maintain strong relationships with executive stakeholders, including the C-suite, to ensure alignment and support for IT initiatives.
Collaborate with IT Services leadership to understand operational challenges and contribute to continuous improvements in IT service delivery.
Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation for IT programs and projects.
Develop leadership succession plans and mentor high-potential talent for broader IT leadership roles.
Create and monitor personal development plans for all IT PMO associates, ensuring professional growth and alignment with organizational needs.
Foster a culture of innovation and agility within the IT PMO, encouraging continuous improvement and the adoption of modern delivery practices.
Partner with CISO team to ensure IT programs adhere to security best practices and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of IT initiatives across the organization.
Contribute to the strategic development of IT services and operations to support business growth and agility.
Act as a key advisor to IT leadership in shaping the IT roadmap and ensuring operational excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field ORequivalentwork experience.
PMP, Agile, or ITIL certifications
7+ years of experience in Project/Program Management.
5+ years of experience leading Portfolio, Program, or Project Managers.
Extensive experience managing IT projects/programs, including applications and infrastructure.
Experience managing technology service delivery using IT outsourcing partners.
Very strong conceptual, analytical, judgment and communication abilities are critical.
Demonstrated success in strategic leadership and executive stakeholder management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, previous leadership, management and supervisory experience, and excellent time management abilities. The individual should demonstrate initiative, exercise good judgment, exhibit strong profit orientation, and the ability to achieve results through others.
Expertise in establishing and improving governance frameworks and delivering measurable business value through IT initiatives.
Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Desired Skills
Exceptional conceptual, analytical, and judgment skills, with strong communication and influence capabilities.
Proven ability to develop and execute strategies for talent development and organizational capability building.
Lean Six Sigma or SAFe certifications are a plus.
Experience with global or multi-regional IT program management is strongly preferred.
