The Global Professional Services Category Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all Professional Services spending related to Finance (global audit, accounting, commercial insurance, treasury, and banking), Legal (outside counsel and intellectual property), and HR (recruiting, agency, onboarding, and benefits). The ideal candidate will play a critical role in optimizing procurement strategies, enhancing supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiencies across all professional services categories. The role reports directly to the Director of Global Indirect Procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy Development : Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy for various professional services that aligns with the company's overall business objectives and cost-saving targets.

  • Spend Analysis : Conduct detailed analyses of current spending patterns, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiencies in all areas across Finance, Legal and HR.

  • Supplier Management : Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure optimal service levels and cost-effectiveness.

  • Risk Management : Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement decisions in financial services, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

  • Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and compliance, to ensure alignment of procurement activities with organizational goals.

  • Market Research : Stay informed about market trends and best practices in financial services procurement to continuously improve strategies and processes.

  • Performance Metrics : Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of procurement strategies and supplier performance.

  • Training and Development : Mentor and train team members on procurement best practices, tools, and technologies related to financial services.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of sourcing and procurement experience specifically in professional services. At least 3 years of experience in a management role desired.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree/MBA preferred.

  • Deep working knowledge of corporate services in Finance, Legal and HR and prior experience negotiating mid to large enterprise contracts and service agreements. Experience with outsourced services is desirable.

  • Ability to listen and think critically, professionally challenge positions, and form persuasive arguments with teams, leadership, and suppliers, resulting in:

  • High impact outcomes

  • A shared view of Professional Services Procurement as a strategic function by all stakeholders.

  • More effective Program and Project Management driving improved corporate performance.

  • Cordis being a customer of choice for key critical suppliers.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, lead and deliver results on complex, cross-functional projects, and global projects.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (multi-lingual skills a plus)
