The Senior Business Analyst, Operational Performance will be responsible for supporting a variety of strategic activities using various data and performance metrics throughout the enterprise. The incumbent will be accountable for analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources to identify trends and opportunities. The Senior Business Analyst provides data-driven insights and present findings to leadership. The incumbent will partner with various stakeholders to identify business requirements, identify opportunities to improve available data/reports and conduct User Acceptance Testing on IT generated reports and dashboards.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the development of enterprise-wide programs and initiatives through analyzing, monitoring, and reporting, including data visualization.

  • Interprets and analyzes data from multiple sources including existing reports, claims data, Electronic Health Record information and patience experience data to identify trends and areas of opportunity to improve

  • Identifies and performs root-cause analysis of data irregularities and present findings and proposed solutions to leadership

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify specific business requirements

  • Performs data analysis, gathering and integrating large volumes of data to perform analysis, interpret results, and develop actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Communicates and presents data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders, soliciting and incorporating feedback when required

  • Collaborates with various partners to provide a holistic view of the analysis

  • Develops process flows and standard operating procedures

  • Designs, prepares, modifies, and develops selected recurring and ad-hoc reports within given projects

  • Develops and documents complex business analysis and reporting requirements

  • Coordinates a variety of projects/requests simultaneously and ensures timely completion in accordance with business initiatives

  • Assists with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new reports including dashboards

  • Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Competent-level business acuity

  • Familiar with the following software/tools: Git, Jupyter-Notebook; knowledge and experience with programming languages: C, C++, Python, SQL, R, etc.

  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; competent in other systems required for the position

  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and/or nationally up to 10% of the time; flexible to work evening, weekends and/or holidays as needed

  • Spoken and written fluency in English

  • This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Public Health, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • 4+ years of experience business process, data analysis, or requirements analysis.

  • Healthcare experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of SQL/querying languages. Preferred knowledge of programmatic coding languages such as Python and R.

  • Knowledge of basic statistical, analytical, or data mining techniques including basic data modeling, trend analysis, and root-cause analysis preferred.

  • Preferred knowledge of modern business intelligence and visualization tools including Microsoft Power BI.
