Actalent Microbiology QC Technician I in Miami, Florida

Job Title: Microbiology QC Technician IJob Description

The QC Technician I performs daily sampling and testing of finished products and raw materials to ensure they meet customer needs and regulatory requirements. The role involves following established methods and SOPs in accordance with cGMPs, as well as supporting environmental and water quality monitoring activities.

Responsibilities

  • Aseptic sampling of incoming materials for testing.

  • Perform quality control testing on finished products including sterility, endotoxin, and pH while adhering to cGMP, SOPs, and all safety regulations.

  • Collect water samples from throughout the facility and analyze samples for TOC, conductivity, and bioburden.

  • Support environmental monitoring including contact plating, viable and non-viable air sampling, and media fill validations.

  • Demonstrate judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.

  • Clean and maintain lab glassware, utensils, etc.

  • Work closely with a team in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

  • Understand and exercise all safety requirements and procedures.

  • Assist in maintaining standards in accordance with GMP, SOP, and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform routine environmental monitoring and critical utility sampling.

  • Support all company policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Ability to manage many tasks in an organized fashion.

  • Effective communication with various departments regarding quality testing parameters.

  • Intermediate computer skills, preferably with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to listen to and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

  • Comfortable working in a cGMP clean room environment for extended periods of time.

  • Availability to work weekend shifts when needed.

  • Highly motivated, responsible, and possess a good teamwork spirit.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences preferred.

  • Knowledge or coursework in microbiology with laboratory experience or a Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of microbiology lab experience.

Work Environment

The position requires working in a cGMP clean room environment for extended periods. The shift details are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with the need to work weekend shifts when necessary.
