Job Description

The Specialist, Brand and Advertising will manage the execution of upper and mid-funnel assets to support brand campaigns, media extensions/custom partnerships and brand activations. This individual will support the Manager, Brand and Advertising in briefing creative work (in-house or to our agency partners), managing timelines, reviewing, and approving creative and managing the budget. This role will be a brand steward and subject matter expert on all things Carnival and will work closely with the broader marketing team to ensure there is a cohesive and integrated approach.

  • Essential Functions:

  • Brand Campaign and Activations: Responsible for supporting the Sr. Manager, Brand and Advertising on the creation of brand campaigns and activations to drive new to cruise awareness and brand consideration. This includes developing and/or reviewing creative briefs, managing master timeline (inclusive of production and creative development of multiple workstreams) with external agency partner, and reviewing and approving paid creative assets (OOH, display, radio, TV, OLV, etc.)Work with external agency partner on campaign toolkit development and launch handbook (which houses all campaign creative and will be updated throughout the length of the campaign) and distribute to the broader Marketing teams (PR, CRM, Trade, etc.) to ensure all brand campaign assets are can be implemented through the marketing funnel.

  • Creative Asset Development: Oversee the development of upper- and mid-level assets to fulfill media plan. This includes media extensions post-campaign launch, custom partnership integrations and more. Responsible for working closely with the Media team to become subject matter expert on the media plan, including trafficking dates, partners, channels, and deliverables/asset tracker. Own project timelines and communicate with external agency partners and/or internal creative team to ensure project is tracking and meeting deadlines. This includes reviewing proposed timelines and workback schedules to make sure they are feasible and provide Carnival at least 48-hour turnaround time to review creative and provide feedback. Provide clear and actionable feedback to external agency partners and internal creative team. This entails consolidating feedback if multiple stakeholders are involved and planning accordingly from a timeline perspective. Work with internal teams on assets needed to support project/campaigns from the backend, i.e. CRM team for development of custom landing pages, data capture (QR code generation, UTM development), etc.

  • Cross Functional Integration: Responsible for identifying opportunities where brand campaigns and initiatives can be leveraged by owned channels in order to amplify efforts. Partner with internal marketing teams as a point of integration across campaigns and initiatives, helping ensure information and assets are disseminated. Ensure brand campaign assets are uploaded to internal DAM site so the broader marketing team and 3rd party partners have access to the latest creative. Review marketing materials to make sure they are on-brand (tone, visuals, logo/funnel, etc.)

  • Research and Analytics: Responsible for working with Media Analyst to understand performance results to optimize creative for upper- and mid- funnel digital assets. In collaboration with Media Analyst and external agency partners, develop testing plans to assess performance to inform future creative decisions. Be familiar with latest brand health metrics and brand research to help inform strategic decisions.

  • Budget Management: Process and code invoices within our finance platform. Review project estimates against the budget. Manage Pension & Health budgets for our SAG partners and work closely with Finance to ensure payments are processed on time.

  • Production: Assist Manager, Brand and Advertising on production shoots to support TV, OLV, photo, TV integrations, etc. This may include travelling to and on ships and/or destination.

  • Away We Go Blog: Review content for Away We Go blog to ensure it is on brand. This includes new blogs that are being developed and existing blogs that are being updated and optimized. Work closely with SEO Manager and external agency partner to align on monthly content themes. These can be driven by SEO trends, business needs, seasonality, cultural moments, etc. Support SEO Manager on upcoming project to update the backend of the blog (Wordpress), which will enhance site functionality and improve user experience.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.

  • Required Years & Area of Professional Experience: 3+ years; experience working at an advertising agency and/or managing an advertising agency

  • Critical Professional Related Technical/Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of digital applications/platforms (examples: mobile, web, tablet and social); knowledge of current and future trends in digital marketing and communications platforms and applications; deep expertise in developing effective advertising campaigns; knowledge of media and creative analytics and experience with analyzing performance; familiar with budgetary management; astute attention to detail and accuracy; ability to demonstrate leadership skills; team player attitude; excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills; ability to multi-task and deliver under pressure in a high-visibility role

Operational: Decisions focus on day-to-day activities within the company. Decisions made at this level help to ensure that daily activities proceed smoothly and therefore help to move the company toward reaching a strategic goal. They have short term consequences. Examples are: Handling employee conflicts, purchasing materials needed for operations.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s salary $51,600-$75,300. Offers to the selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
